CEO/Co-founder
The Santa Cruz area has one of the least affordable housing markets in the world. I explore what local leaders are doing to address housing affordability and homelessness. I investigate promising approaches and highlight perspectives of locals who are most affected by these issues.
I co-founded Santa Cruz Local in 2019 because I believed the Santa Cruz community needed a reliable news outlet that delivered deep, high-quality journalism on residents’ most pressing concerns and questions.
As Santa Cruz Local’s CEO, I’m building an ethical and sustainable independent news organization with a deep connection to Santa Cruz County residents.
I’m a founding board member of the Tiny News Collective, a nonprofit organization that helps communities build newsrooms. I live in Santa Cruz with my husband and two dogs. Read my ethics statement.
