Santa Cruz Local is a non-partisan, independent online local news website, newsletter and podcast serving Santa Cruz County. How is Santa Cruz Local funded?

Most of our revenue comes from people like you, through memberships and one-time donations.

We also have business sponsors and we sell ads. We have received grants from the Solutions Journalism Network, Hearken, the Facebook Journalism Project, the Lenfest Institute for Journalism, the Local Media Association, LION Publishers, the Google News Initiative, the American Press Institute, the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program and the Peer Fund.

Yes! As of 2023, Santa Cruz Local is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Your membership contributions and donations are tax deductible.

Then go to santacruzlocal.org/account and click on “Subscriptions” to upgrade or downgrade your membership, change your credit card, change your email address or mailing address, or cancel your membership. You should get an automated email response confirming the change.
