In 2022, Santa Cruz Local staff interviewed about 170 Spanish-speaking Pajaro Valley residents about what news they want and how they want it delivered. The top theme we heard was a need for local news in Spanish. Read our report below.
Based on what we learned, Santa Cruz Local has launched Noticias Watsonville, local news in Spanish delivered through the mobile app Whatsapp. Our news reports include an audio segment, since many people told us they want a way to listen to the news.
