Last updated: August 2024
Project name: Maciel Residential Community
- Location: 1960 Maciel Ave., Live Oak
- Status: The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 27, 2024 approved the project over the concerns of some neighborhood residents. Part of the land will be dedicated to the county for a new sidewalk. The supervisors voted to require the developer to pay for speed bumps on Maciel Avenue. Completion of sewer projects in the area were a prerequisite for construction, said Santa Cruz County Supervisor Manu Koenig said in early 2024.
- Project Summary: The project calls for 21 detached single-family townhomes at 1960 Maciel Ave. in Live Oak.
- The units would be 1,600 square feet to 2,300 square feet and owner occupied.
- Three affordable units would be for residents with “moderate incomes” based on state-determined income limits, said Jonathan Disalvo, a senior planner at the County of Santa Cruz.
- It would require demolition of current residence.
- Developer: Jeff Taylor, Maciel Development LP
