Status
- At a Dec. 11, 2024 meeting, the Santa Cruz County Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend approval of the application. The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors is expected to review the application at a meeting in 2025.
- The site now has two rental units that would be demolished for the redevelopment.
- The proposal is near a separate, 21-unit townhome development at 1960 Maciel Ave. that was approved in 2024.

Project description
- Total units: 25 townhomes for sale, including 22 three-bedroom homes and three four-bedroom homes.
- Affordable units: Four homes would be offered for sale below market price. Two homes are slated for “moderate income” households and two for “low income” households, based on income limits.
- Height: Two stories.
- Development area: 5.3 acres.
- Details: The project requires the demolition of two rented single-family homes. The property would be subdivided into 25 lots with a private road.
