Status

  • Applications for 42 apartments became available May 1, 2024 and will close 5 p.m. May 22. Thirty-four of these 42 units are reserved for farmworker households. Read more about how to apply on Noticias Watsonville’s guide to affordable housing waitlists and applications.
  • Construction is expected to finish in June 2024 with tenancy expected in July 2024. 
  • The Watsonville City Council approved an agreement with the county in 2021 to provide public services and utilities to the complex. County and state money helped finance the project.

Developer

The Foster City-based nonprofit MidPen Housing is the developer.

Project description

  • Total units: 80, including 32 one-bedroom, 23 two-bedroom and 24 three-bedroom units. There is one unit for a property manager. 
  • Affordable units: All units are affordable for households earning up to 60% of area median income based on state-set income limits.

  • Height: Three stories.
  • Details: The complex will include parking, a community room, laundry and a playground.
