Status: The Santa Cruz Planning Commission plans to consider the project at its Aug. 17 meeting, said Santa Cruz Senior Planner Timothy Maier.
Project summary: A 43-unit housing complex is proposed with three new buildings where Eye Medical Group now stands at 515 Soquel Ave. The proposal includes a three-story building and two five-story apartment buildings. Shops are planned on the ground floor of one of the buildings, according to plans submitted to the City of Santa Cruz. The proposal includes 26 single-room occupancy units and 17 apartments. The project includes 1,166 square feet of commercial space.
