CAPITOLA >> The City of Capitola is holding four workshops offering residents an opportunity to learn more about how the city operates.

The goal is to empower residents to get more involved with civic engagement, by understanding how financial decisions are made during budget season and learning about upcoming projects.

There will be networking time for attendees wanting to get more involved in local politics. Topics to be covered include an introduction to the governing structure of Capitola, public safety, local business and community identity.

Capitola City Council will recognize participants at its March 26 meeting. There is no cost to participate.

Interested participants are required to register online by Jan. 28. For more information and questions, contact the Assistant to the City Manager, Chloé Woodmansee.
